A man who escaped custody in Prairie du Chien Tuesday has been apprehended. Vernon County Sheriff Roy Torgerson posted on social media Tuesday night that 26-year-old Paul Germundson escaped custody in a car. Germundson was apprehended in La Crosse around 1:00am Wednesday. Germundson was convicted of second-degree sexual assault of a child in 2015. He was found guilty after pleading no contest.
