Hundreds of people showed up for the 63rd annual Potosi Catfish Festival on Sunday. Potosi Fire Chief Ryne Emler says it gets bigger and bigger every year. It is the Potosi Fire Department’s biggest fundraiser of the year. Emler said the department spent the past week preparing the 1,300 pounds of catfish, which were fried Sunday at the Potosi Fire and Rescue Building on Main Street. Funds will go toward anything the volunteer department needs, such as turnout gear that can cost upwards of $3,000. The department also purchased a new pumper/tanker truck earlier this year.
