Officers from the Darlington Police Department responded to a report of a child bicyclist being struck by a car near the intersection of Madison Street and East North Street on Tuesday around 7:30pm. Preliminary findings revealed that was not the case as a child was not involved. However, a 23 year old Darlington woman was injured when a car struck the curb line she was seated on, thereby crushing her legs. She was taken by MedFlight to UW Hospital for treatment. The driver of the car, 17 year old Oscar Diaz of Darlington, was cited for operating without a driver’s license. The matter remains under investigation.
