Dubuque’s Leisure Services Department seeks to increase fees to offset higher operating costs associated with previously approved wage increases for seasonal pool workers and park maintenance staff. Dubuque City Council members are expected to consider the proposal at their Monday, Feb. 5, meeting. Leisure Services Director Marie Ware said wage increases from the fiscal year 2023 budget are impacting the upcoming 2025 budget by about $231,000. She is requesting a 5% increase in program fees, services and rental fees and the sale of concessions. Admission fees at Flora and Sutton pools this season would increase $1 for youth and older adults to $3. The admission fee for adults would rise from $4 to $5.
