A man died when a silo collapsed on him Wednesday morning near Monroe, according to the Green County Sheriff’s Office. The incident was reported by a 911 caller at about 8:20 AM on Clarno Road, south of Monroe. The investigation determined that 50-year-old Alan Prien of rural Monroe was in the process of taking a silo down when it partially collapsed, trapping him. Prein was pronounced dead at the scene.
