A Mount Horeb real estate agent and farm manager has announced her candidacy for Wisconsin State Assembly District 51. Democrat Elizabeth Grabe is challenging incumbent Republican Todd Novak, of Dodgeville, for the seat in the redrawn 51st District. The realigned district was signed into law by Gov. Tony Evers. It now includes the Dane County communities of Mount Horeb, Blue Mounds and Vermont. It includes all of Lafayette and Iowa counties and much of Grant County, including Monfort, Livingston, Hazel Green and Cuba City. Grabe said her involvement in the Mount Horeb Rotary Club has motivated her to run for elected office. Novak is seeking his fifth term and said he is used to being in tough races.
