A study from Florida personal injury lawyers reveals that Iowa is the state with the highest number of unhelmeted motorcyclists involved in fatal crashes. Iowa recorded a total of 272 motorcyclists involved in a fatal incident between 2018 and 2022, with 197 of these involving unhelmeted drivers. This translates to a rate of 72.4%, which is the highest in the US. In eighth place is Wisconsin, which saw a total of 500 motorcyclists who were involved in a deadly incident, with 341 of these being unhelmeted, marking a rate of 68.2%. On the other end of the scale, Washington had the lowest rate of unhelmeted motorcyclists involved in fatal crashes. The state recorded a total of 510 motorcyclists that were involved in a deadly crash, with 17 of these drivers being unhelmeted, translating to 3.3%
