Completion of the Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County project, originally scheduled to open the fall, has been delayed a couple of months. Committee chairperson Jack Sauer says supply shortages have pushed the completion date to about late January. Sauer estimates the new facility will open in February. Originally, construction was slated to finish this fall, with a grand opening in January. The new, $64.8 million facility will be located on a 36-acre site at the intersection of Highway 23 and County Highway K in Darlington. It will replace the current facility on Clay Street which was built in 1952.
