On Wednesday around 11:00pm, a Hazel Green police officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle operated by 46 year old Jason Durr of Platteville for speeding. After observing signs of impairment, the officer began an impaired driver investigation. Durr admitted to smoking marijuana approximately 2 hours prior. Durr performed field sobriety tests. Durr then told the officer he was in possession of Methamphetamine and also smoked methamphetamine approximately 2 hours prior. Approximately 1 gram of suspected methamphetamine and several prescription pills were located in the vehicle. Durr was taken into custody for Operating with a Restricted Controlled Substance-3rd offense. Durr was taken to Southwest Health for a legal blood draw before being transported to the Grant County Jail. A preliminary test was later performed on the suspected methamphetamine resulted in a positive test for methamphetamine. Charges will be referred to the Grant County District Attorney’s Office for Operating with a Restricted Controlled Substance-3rd offense, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Operating while Suspended, and Speeding.
