The Las Vegas Sphere is reportedly planning to transform The Wizard Of Oz into an immersive experience by adapting it for their LED-covered arena. The $80 million project would enhance the film’s visuals and reduce the runtime from 102 to 80 minutes. This investment is part of the Sphere’s strategy to focus on original content, which has proven to be more profitable than concerts for the venue. For example. the move to adapt The Wizard Of Oz is being negotiated with Warner Bros. Discovery, who would only receive around 5% of the gross profit in the deal. Meanwhile, most of the profit for concerts goes to the headlining artist. (COS)
