This year has been a turbulent year for John Deere employees. The company has laid off more than 1,000 workers from its Iowa workforce – and now they’re facing a potential lawsuit in response. A handful of those employees are looking to file a wrongful termination lawsuit, and there is a precedent for this set by a similar lawsuit filed against Ford Motor Company for targeting older employees. That is serving as the basis for this potential lawsuit against John Deere. A representative of the law firm says the severance packages handed out to employees includes a clause about signing the papers within a 45 day window. The law firm claims that some of the laid off employees were targeted, and is urging people to seek legal counsel before signing anything from the company regarding a severance. Individuals that were laid off can contact the law firm for a free and confidential appointment at 248-398-9800.
