On Sunday, around 4:35pm, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a two vehicle crash with serious injuries on Highway 61 at the intersection with County B near Potosi. Emergency units were dispatched to the scene, along with Sheriff deputies. A preliminary investigation shows that 22 year old Cameron Schaefer of Dickeyville, was traveling on his 2021 Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound on Highway 35/61 in the Township of Potosi. 23 year old Jadyn Noonan of Dickeyville was riding as a passenger. As Schaefer approached County Road B, a GMC Sierra truck driven by 17 year old Gavin Fishnick of Barneveld, failed to yield from the stop sign. The motorcycle collided with the truck and Schaefer and Noonan were ejected from the motorcycle and sustained serious injuries. Schaefer was taken by Potosi EMS to Grant Regional Health Center. Noonan was taken by Potosi EMS to Southwest Health. Both of them were later transferred to other hospitals and remain in critical condition. No injuries were reported by Fishnick or his juvenile passenger. The Potosi Fire Department, Potosi EMS, Lancaster Police Department, Lancaster Fire Department, and Arrow Towing assisted at the scene. Neither motorcycle riders were wearing helmets at the time of the crash.
