In its ongoing development of a new renewable energy ordinance, the Dubuque County Board of Supervisors this week heard from a representative of a leading national green energy firm pursuing local projects. County officials ran some proposals in the draft ordinance by Daniel Booth, land acquisition project manager for AES Corp., who expressed confusion about the reasoning for some proposals and shared how they could limit renewable energy growth in the county. He also shared how AES, one of the country’s largest owner-operators of renewable energy installations, could still be able to work in the county. The Board of Supervisors took no action on the ordinance, seeking more information before shaping it further.
