A state public defender in Milwaukee is facing serious allegations, accused of violating the laws he was sworn to uphold. Prosecutors have charged 54-year-old attorney Travis Schwantes with several offenses related to prostitution and the misuse of his public office. According to court documents Schwantes is linked to a prostitution ring that involves several individuals from the legal community, including a former judge, multiple lawyers, and public safety workers. Schwantes is scheduled for his initial court appearance on December 20.
