Western Wisconsin student artists had their moment in the spotlight Saturday for the 2025 Congressional Art Competition. Every year, high school students in Wisconsin’s Third Congressional District take part in the competition, with the winner having their artwork displayed in the U.S. Capitol for a year. The second-place finisher will have their art shown in Third Congressional District Representative Derrick Van Orden’s office. A panel of university professors selected the winning pieces. There were around 35 submissions this year. This year’s first place winner was Katelyn Klemm. Her piece was titled “With Liberty and Justice.” Second place went to Lily Vue. She called her piece “Two Sides of the Same Coin.”
