Nominations for the 33rd annual ESPY Awards have been announced, with Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen and Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark among the leading nominees. Allen, receiving his first nominations, is up for the Best Athlete – Men’s Sports award. Other notable nominees include Saquon Barkley, Coco Gauff, Simone Biles, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Ilona Maher, Alexander Ovechkin, Freddie Freeman, Tyrese Haliburton, Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, Paul Skenes, and Baggy Thomas. Cooper Flagg, the No. 1 NBA draft pick, is in the running for the Best Breakthrough Athlete award. The ESPY Awards, presented by ESPN, will take place on July 16 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, with Shane Gillis hosting the event. (Upi)
