Police said at least three people including two children, were injured Wednesday in a Dubuque crash. A 7-year-old boy from Dubuque was hospitalized and transported by University of Iowa AirCare to UI Health Care in Iowa City, and a 6-year-old girl from Dubuque was transported by the Dubuque Fire Department to MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center, according to a police crash report. Police said 74-year-old Douglas H. Stillings of Asbury sustained minor injuries but did not seek medical attention at the scene. The crash happened at about 10:40 a.m. Wednesday along University Avenue. The report states 37-year-old Corlandis D. Chester of Dubuque was traveling east on University Avenue near Irving Street as Stillings was driving west. Chester reportedly crossed the center line striking the front of Stillings’ vehicle. Chester fled the scene with the two children in the back of his car. The children were later located and transported but police did not locate Chester. Stillings had small cuts along his arm from the crash, but he refused medical treatment. Police issued a warrant for Chester and cited him with driving while barred, a child restraint violation, having no insurance and crossing the center line.
