Parent and child cited following one-vehicle crash in Clyde

On Sunday at 1:53 AM Iowa County Communications Center received a report of a one-vehicle crash between two trees and into a third tree on County Road I near Conway Road in Clyde Township. The reporting parties indicated that the airbags were deployed, the vehicle was not on its wheelbase and that it was unoccupied. Lone Rock Fire, Lone Rock EMS and multiple Iowa County Sherrif’s Office units were dispatched to the scene. Upon their arrival it was also noted that the third tree was struck at its base and had come down, covering the majority of the width of County Road I. Responding units searched the area for any subjects potentially ejected from the vehicle, however none were found. It was later determined that the driver of the vehicle had contacted his mother after crashing the vehicle around midnight, and that she had responded to the scene and transported him by personal vehicle to the hospital for unknown injuries. 44-year-old Stephanie M Rivera of Lone Rock was cited for Owner Liability – Failure to Report Traffic Crash. The driver of the vehicle, 18-year-old Seamus R Laufenberg of Lone Rock was cited for Failure to Report Crash, Inattentive Driving and Failure to Maintain Control. Lone Rock Fire crews removed the tree from the roadway.
