A monetary award received by a local community college will support an endowment to help fund scholarships. Southwest Wisconsin Technical College was named the nation’s top community college in April by the international nonprofit Aspen Institute. The 2025 Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence included $700,000 gift to the college. According to a press release, the college will use the money for its Student Success Plan Endowment. Interest generated from the endowment will be used to fund scholarships. The college foundation seeks to double the prize award to $1.4 million by launching a matching grant program. Visit swtc.edu/foundation for more information on donating to the grant program.
