The Iowa County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s help to find a semi involved in a hit-and-run. On Thursday at 1:43 PM, the Iowa County 911 Center received multiple 911 calls reporting a serious crash involving a silver van and a semi-truck on eastbound Highway 18/151 near mile marker 52, just outside Ridgeway. The silver van, carrying one adult and three children under the age of 5, was struck and pushed into the median by a flatbed semi. Witnesses described the semi as having a black tarp, but due to the speed of the incident, that was the only identifiable detail before the semi left the scene. All occupants of the van were transported to Upland Hills for medical evaluation and have since been treated and released. The Sheriff’s Department is asking f you witnessed this crash, saw the flatbed semi in the area, or have any information that can assist in identifying the vehicle or driver to please contact them.
