Crews are repairing main break that has left much of East Dubuque without water this afternoon. It was a break to the main line that feeds the water tower, so it affects the whole part of town serviced by the tower. The Frentress Lake area is not affected. City Manger Bob Seitz said repairs are underway. He said he expects repairs to be completed later this afternoon. There is a boil order until tomorrow. The boil order will be issued while tests are conducted for potential bacterial contamination. When the order is in place, boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth and food preparation until further notice.
