Officials with the nonprofit license holder for Dubuque’s casinos announced Tuesday nearly $1.1 million in funding for 52 area organizations as part of its annual grant program. The DRA board approved the slate of recipients for the 2025 Core Grant Program at its monthly meeting. The Core Grant program supports grant requests of up to $50,000 and focuses on initiatives such as population growth, retention and tourism, with an emphasis on “capacity-building opportunities and essential material purchases,” a DRA press release states. Organizations awarded grants came from across the tri-state area. While 40 recipients are based in Dubuque, seven are elsewhere in Iowa, four are in southwest Wisconsin and one is in East Dubuque, Ill. The four Wisconsin recipients were The Driver Opera House, Grant Regional Health Center, Southwest Wisconsin Technical College Foundation, and the UW-Platteville Foundation.
