Maren Morris’ new song, “Beat The Devil,” is featured prominently in the trailer for CBS’s upcoming series, Sheriff Country, which is set to premiere on October 17. The song complements the show’s ominous storyline, which follows sheriff Mickey Fox, played by Morena Baccarin, as she investigates crime in small-town Edgewater while navigating complex family dynamics. Sheriff Country is a spin-off of Fire Country, which is known for its country music connections, with the new show set to air weekly starting at 7 p.m. CT from October 24. “There’s a sinister but strangely empowering nature to my song ‘Beat the Devil,’” Morris said in a statement. “So it threading the needle so beautifully with the theme of Sheriff Country is a testament to music amplifying the incredible acting and writing of this show.” Morris is in the midst of her world tour supporting her fourth album, Dreamsicle, and its companion deluxe edition that were both released earlier this year.
