Wisconsin FoodShare members can now access their full November benefits after a federal judge ordered the Trump Administration to release SNAP payments to states, ending a freeze that affected nearly 700,000 Wisconsinites. The Wisconsin Department of Health Services announced Friday that full November FoodShare benefits are available on all QUEST cards. Members can check their balance by calling QUEST Card Services. Gov. Tony Evers said his administration moved immediately to distribute the benefits after the federal court ruling. Evers said, “It was damn important that we can get this done and moved as quickly as we could, and that’s what we’re doing,. Wisconsinites should’ve never been without food assistance, period.” The restoration comes after Wisconsin joined other states, municipalities and nonprofits in filing lawsuits against the federal government. President Donald Trump initially ordered November SNAP benefits frozen amid the government shutdown, which reached its 37th day Thursday. Friday, the Trump Administration asked an appeals court to block that federal judge’s order.
