The sentence was handed down for the New Jersey man accused of health care fraud in Wisconsin. Kevin Breslin was the CEO of Atrium Health and Senior Living. They had 24 facilities in Wisconsin, including locations in Bloomer, Chetek, Black River Falls, and Ellsworth. Breslin and his corporation were indicted in 2023 on a litany of federal fraud charges and conspiracy to commit money laundering. The indictment alleges funds were diverted from the Wisconsin facilities, which caused inadequate care of residents. Insurance premiums and taxes from employee’s paychecks were also withheld and kept. This week, Breslin was sentenced to 7.5 years in federal prison. He and the corporation must also pay $146,193,885.96 in restitution.
