A project to rehabilitate a Dubuque building into commercial space and apartments has been awarded close to $700,000 in state tax credits. The Rider Lacy Block project, at 1706 Central Ave., received $683,744 through the Historic Preservation Tax Credit program, according to a press release from the Iowa Economic Development Authority. The project will see the building rehabilitated with first-floor commercial space and 11 upper-story apartments. The award was part of more than $23 million in Historic Preservation Tax Credit awards to 11 properties across the state that were announced Tuesday.
