A person was cited early Tuesday morning after crashing into a utility pole and driving while impaired, the Richland County Sheriff’s Office said. Richland County Dispatch received a call after 2 a.m. regarding a single-vehicle crash on County Highway E at Town Hall Drive with a potential entrapment. Upon arrival, deputies located the driver, Raven Johnson and a passenger in the vehicle against a utility pole. The vehicle was traveling northbound on the highway when Johnson reportedly lost control of the vehicle. Several power lines fell to the ground due to the crash. Deputies aided the occupants until Muscoda EMS and Fire arrived on scene. Both occupants where extricated from the vehicle and transported to the Richland Center Hospital for medical care. The sheriff’s office said they noticed Johnson displaying signs of impairment. She was arrested and cited for first-offense operating while impairment, driving too fast for conditions and failure to maintain control of a vehicle.
