State Senator Howard Marklein announced Wednesday that two local communities have received significant funding for road improvements. The Town of Patch Grove in Grant County was awarded 3.3 million dollars to repair Maine Road, while the Town of Willow Springs in Lafayette County will receive 2.8 million dollars for improvements to Furnace Hill Road. The funding comes through the Agricultural Road Improvement Program, with the state covering 90 percent of each project’s cost. Senator Marklein says these upgrades are essential for farmers to bring goods to market and will benefit agricultural producers and small towns throughout southwestern Wisconsin.
