Animal rights activist Wayne Hsiung has pleaded not guilty to four felony charges connected to a March protest and dog rescue at Ridglan Farms. Prosecutors say Hsiung helped lead an effort in which activists removed more than 20 dogs from the facility. Hsiung faces up to 31 years in prison if convicted. Supporters argue the action was necessary to protect dogs they say were being mistreated at the breeding operation. Hsiung’s next court date is June 2.
