MADISON, Wis. — Chris Bono’s wrestling room just got a whole lot better thanks to Austin Gomez’s commitment.

The former Iowa State wrestler announced on social media that he’s transferring to Wisconsin. As a Cyclone, Gomez wrestled just one full season (2018-19) where he qualified for the national tournament.

Six months ago he announced he was retiring from wrestling due to injuries, then in April Gomez entered the transfer portal. And after visiting Wisconsin on May 31, he announced he found his new home in Madison.
Gomez will have 3 years of eligibility in Madison.
