The final cut was announced June 24th and features a combination of some of the most noteworthy prep ballers in the country as well as a crop of collegiate hoopers. Joining Davis on the team is fellow Wisconsinite and #4 overall high school recruit Patrick Baldwin Jr., who has committed to playing for UW-Milwaukee in the fall. Other noteworthy names include Chet Holmgren (the #1 high school recruit in the nation) and Jaden Ivey (2021 Big Ten All-Freshman teamer).

Historically, the U-19 World Cup experience has been a breeding ground for some of the country’s top talent. In 2019, the squad featured future college stars like Jalen Suggs and Tyrese Haliburton, with other alumni including Jalen Brunson, Doug McDermott, and Seth Curry. Davis will be the first active Badger to represent Team USA in the U-19 World Cup Competition.
This past season, Davis averaged seven points and four boards on 44-39-73 shooting split while providing the Badgers’ most reliable spark off the bench. Though the year was filled with questions and shortcomings, Davis’ potential shone through. His career-high 17 point showing against Penn State on February 2nd helped avenge an embarrassing loss earlier in the season. Dazzling plays against Northwestern and Michigan only added to the already exciting narrative around Davis. And with the experience he is to gain at this World Cup, the rising sophomore is poised to take another leap forward.
