Major League Baseball has announced that it had canceled the August 13th Major League game between the Chicago White Sox and St. Louis Cardinals at the Field of Dreams in Dyersville, a move spurred by COVID-19. MLB does intend to play a game in 2021 at the Dyersville site and that early plans call for an August game still featuring the White Sox. The original plans for the game began last year with the White Sox playing the New York Yankees. Construction on an 8,000 seat ballpark at the movie site began soon afterward. The coronavirus pandemic halted baseball in March, with a return to play happening just a few weeks ago.
