A Crawford County man is facing numerous felony charges related to an investigation into the trafficking of methamphetamine and the thefts of numerous power tools and large pieces of construction equipment. Investigators have been working with other law enforcement agencies throughout Wisconsin and as a result, have identified the main suspect as 27 year old Jake Groom of Steuben. Investigators secured a search warrant for a property in Steuben where Groom has been known to reside. Numerous stolen items were recovered and the monetary value of the items is estimated to be around $30,000. During the search warrant, numerous items indicative of trafficking methamphetamine was located. Groom was not present during the search. He currently faces up to 20 felony charges which includes 5 counts of receiving/concealing stolen property, 3 counts of criminal damage to property, possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, 7 counts of felony bail-jumping, and maintaining a drug trafficking place. The case currently remains under investigation and several other individuals may be charged in connection with the crimes.
