Patients struggling with addiction can now access medication-assisted therapy in Prairie du Chien. The new Mayo Clinic service will fill a large gap in the rural community as Crawford County employees say Prairie du Chien’s number one health concern is alcohol abuse. Joel Greenya, a doctor in family medicine at Mayo Clinic Health System says it’s helping people with any substance use disorder, whether its opioid use disorder, tobacco, alcohol or anything. Prairie du Chien is now the only place in southwest Wisconsin that can provide this therapy through a family physician. Appointments are available in-person or virtually.
