Man found dead during attempt to serve sexual abuse warrant was Dubuque teacher

Dubuque Police have released the identity of the man who fatally shot himself while being served an arrest warrant. The man was identified as 24-year-old Trent Paschal, a teacher at Jefferson Middle School. Dubuque Police were notified of a sexual relationship between Paschal and a 14-year-old Student on May 31st. Traffic and surveillance cameras showed Paschal and the student entering then leaving his apartment together. After forensic evidence corroborated the students’ story, police issued an arrest warrant on June 12th. While attempting to execute the arrest warrant Paschal fatally shot himself.
