A district attorney has been appointed to serve as a judge in Lafayette County Circuit Court. Lafayette County native Jenna Gill was appointed by Gov. Tony Evers, a press release states. She will fill a vacancy created by the death of Judge Duane M. Jorgensen in April, completing a term ending July 31, 2025. Gill has served as Lafayette County district attorney since January 2017. She previously was an attorney for Russell Law Offices, S.C. in Darlington. Evers is seeking applicants to fill Gill’s district attorney role. The new district attorney will serve the remainder of the unexpired term that ends in January 2025. Applications are due at 5 p.m. July 1. More information is available at evers.wi.gov.
