Recent data show that underage drunken drivers in Iowa are more likely to be involved in a fatal crash than their peers nationwide. According to the Foundation for Advancing Alcohol Responsibility, an anti-drunk driving organization, in 2022, underage drunken drivers killed 1.6 people per 100,000 across the nation. In Iowa, that rate was slightly higher, with underage drunken drivers killing 2 people per 100,000.
