Rust armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed’s legal team is seeking her release from prison following the dismissal of Alec Baldwin’s case. Attorney Jason Bowles filed a motion on Tuesday for a new trial or case dismissal due to “severe and ongoing discovery violations by the State.” The motion referenced the “egregious” discovery violation revealed during Baldwin’s trial, where special prosecutor Kari T. Morrissey was found to have suppressed evidence related to live ammunition in the 2021 fatal on-set shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. Gutierrez-Reed was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in March and sentenced to 18 months in prison. (NBC News)
