Last year, 115 Wisconsin law enforcement agencies participated in Speed Awareness Day, a 24-hour statewide speed enforcement and education campaign. This year, Wisconsin law enforcement will be back at it, with Speed Awareness Day 2024 kicking off on Wednesday, July 31. In Iowa County, there were 517 crashes, of which 105 were speed-related and caused 57 injuries and 1 fatality. With these statistics in mind, Iowa County law enforcement agencies will once again be teaming up to bring awareness to dangerous driving on July 31, 2024. Although this event is only one day, the Iowa County Sheriff’s Department encourages speed compliance every day to help reduce crashes and dangerous driving in Iowa County.
