Rollover Accident In Belmont Township

A deputy with the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department responded to Highway 151, in Belmont Township Friday around 8pm for a two vehicle accident. 18 year old Emma Mason of Mineral Point was traveling south in a 2015 Dodge when she struck the rear of a 2017 Jeep, being driven by 21 year old Lexi Lichty of Monroe Center, Illinois. Mason then crossed into the median and rolled multiple times. Mason was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries and Lichty denied EMS. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Mason was cited for Inattentive Driving and Failure to Maintain Control of her Vehicle. Belmont Fire and EMS assisted at the scene.
