Platteville Man Cited For Hit and Run

A deputy from the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department responded to Highway 81 in Elk Grove Township Sunday around 7am for a one vehicle accident. 20 year old Jose  Aranda-Castaneda of Platteville was traveling westbound on Highway 81 when he lost control, went into a ditch and struck a power pole. No injuries were reported and the vehicle was towed from the scene with disabling damage. Aranda-Castaneda was cited for Hit and Run, Operating without a Driver’s License, and Fail to Notify Police of an Accident. Belmont Fire and EMS and Darlington Police assisted at the scene.
