Jo Daviess County Sheriff To Step Down

Jo Daviess County Sheriff Kevin Turner has announced that he will resign as sheriff effective Dec. 13. His resignation was submitted at this week’s board meeting, and his successor will be his longtime chief deputy, Craig Ketelsen — who Turner calls his “go-to guy.” Turner, who was born and raised in Galena, said he opted to resign after 14 years as sheriff because he believes the time is right to usher in the next generation of county law enforcement.
