One charged following two vehicle accident in Gratiot

One man was charged following a two vehicle accident in Gratiot on Friday. At 4:30 PM a Lafayette County deputy, Gratiot Fire, Gratiot First, and Green County EMS responded to Highway 11 in Gratiot for a two-vehicle accident. 81-year-old Pauletta Fick of Gratiot was travelling on Highway 11 when she stopped to make a left turn. As Fick was turning, 52-year-old Gary Cooley of Potosi attempted to pass Fick on the left side causing Fick to strike Cooley. Fick’s vehicle received disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Cooley’s vehicle received minor damage and was driven from the scene. Cooley was cited for Passing a Vehicle Turning Left.
