Deputies with the Green County Sheriff’s Department responded to the 100 block of North Mill Street in the Town of Cadiz Sunday around 6:20pm for a reported hit and run vehicle crash. Following an investigation, it was found that 69 year old Robert Ruegsegger of Darlington was doing a burnout when he lost control of his vehicle and it collided with an unoccupied parked vehicle. Ruegsegger said he was wearing his seatbelt and he was uninjured. Ruegsegger’s vehicle sustained disabling damage, with no airbag deployment, and was towed from the scene. Ruegsegger was cited for Hit and Run, Failure of Operator to Notify Police of an Accident, Driving Too Fast for Conditions, Non-Registration of Auto, and Unnecessary Acceleration. Ruegsegger was released pending court.
