A Green County judge sentenced a Monroe man to 10 years in prison following his guilty plea to felony child sex assault. According to court records, 33-year-old Andrew Swanston, pleaded guilty to first-degree child sex assault, sexual contact or sexual intercourse with a person under 13. He was scheduled to report to prison on Oct. 22. Authorities say Swanston sexually assaulted a child in a tent in his backyard in June 2023. Swanston was a seasonal employee in the Monroe School District, according to the district administrator. He worked in the special education program at the high school.
