A former Hallmark casting director, 79-year-old Penny Perry, has filed a lawsuit against network executives alleging ageist and ableist harassment, including claims that executives advocated for the replacement of “old talent” like Hallmark favorites 42-year-old Lacey Chabert and 60-year-old Holly Robinson-Peete. Perry states she was personally fired for being too “long in the tooth” and for her personal health conditions. “Lacey and Holly have a home at Hallmark,” the network said in a statement. “We do not generally comment on pending litigation. And while we deny these outrageous allegations, we are not going to discuss an employment relationship in the media.” Chabert and Robinson-Peete both have a long history with Hallmark. In fact, Chabert has a new reality series and Christmas movie coming to the network in the coming months. (EW)
