Lily James, Pierce Brosnan To Star In ‘Cliffhanger’ Reboot As Sylvester Stallone Exits

A reboot of Cliffhanger without Sylvester Stallone is currently in production, featuring Lily James and Pierce Brosnan in the lead roles. The project was originally announced 18 months ago with Stallone set to star and Ric Roman Waugh (Greenland) set to direct. The film, now directed by Jaume Collet-Serra (Carry-On, Non-Stop) from a new script, is based on a story by Ana Lily Amirpour (A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night) and described as a father-daughter take on Die Hard. It follows a seasoned mountaineer and his daughter in a fight for survival against kidnappers in the Dolomites, with filming underway in Austria. (Variety)
