A Cuba City man is in custody after he allegedly fired a gun from his vehicle multiple times while driving. According to a press release sent out by the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office, the at 6:30 PM on Friday, the 911 dispatch center received a call about and individual firing a gun from a vehicle multiple times. Around five minutes after the initial 911 call, they received a second call reporting a rear-end accident and that there was a firearm in the vehicle. The second caller was identified as 49-year-old Justice William Kelly of Cuba City who cooperated with the investigation and did have a firearm recovered from his vehicle. Kelly was taken to the Sheriff’s Office Detention Center and booked on potential charges of Second Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety. Kelly is expected to appear in Vernon County Circuit Court on Monday. The Viroqua Police Department and their dispatcher quickly assisted the Sheriff’s Office. Evidence led to believe that the two calls were associated. There were children in both vehicles and no one was injured. The incident remains under investigation.
