In a preview clip for a new episode of Amazon Music Songline, Christian country singer Brandon Lake’s mom, Cindy, shared that she was devastated when he decided to quit sports to pursue music. “When you came to us and said you didn’t want to do sports anymore, that you wanted to pursue playing music, we were heartbroken,” Cindy says in the clip. “We just thought, ‘No! Because we loved going to all the ball games.'” Brandon reveals that his passion for music began in Sunday school, inspiring him to teach himself guitar and develop a sound influenced by Christian and country music.
