Peacock has cancelled Poker Face after two seasons, but creator Rian Johnson is developing a new version with Peter Dinklage replacing Natasha Lyonne as amateur detective Charlie Cale. Johnson and producer MRC are seeking a two-season order from another distributor, with plans to rotate new lead actors every two seasons. Lyonne will remain as executive producer while Johnson continues as writer and director. Johnson and Lyonne said in a statement: “We’ve been germinating this next move together since writing the season two finale. We love our ‘Poker Face’ and this is the perfect way to keep it rolling. Give us a beat and we may just see Charlie Cale again down that open highway.” The mystery series debuted in 2021, inspired by shows like Columbo, and earned six Emmy nominations across two seasons, winning one for Judith Light’s guest role.
